India in ODIs

The first ODI between England and India got off to a flying start in Rajkot. Why only the match? The series itself has had a great start. After India's resounding victory against the Aussies recently, the Man of the Series - Ishant Sharma - was in high spirits. Afterall, that was a great achievement, firstly for a comparatively newer player, and that too against a team like Australia. Along with Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma is becoming a vital part of the Indian pace attack. And his very precense as well as absense is becoming very important. Now that, he has missed the first ODI, let's hope that he get back to business of taking wickets in tomorrows second ODI of the series.
He did more than a fabulous job for his captains - both for Anil Kumble and M S Dhoni. Dhoni bowled him for unusally longer spells. But the 'lamboo' tiredlessly did the task assigned to him. And that brought good results both for him and for the nation.
When India were Down Under, there too Ishant obliged his captain to get the all important wicket of Ricky Ponting. And this was repeated several times. Let's hope that his injury is subsided by now and that he performs good as he has been doing.
