There was once a story about a man who is a chain smoker, but tried to stop smoking after realizing he can actually build a house after few years of saving the money he use to buy pack of cigarette, and he prove to himself that, after he had built a huge house out of his saving. One night, while he was on a trip, the house was robbed and burned down. So, he get back into smoking again at list, he enjoys the money he had for the rest of his life.

A friend of mine who had been smoking since he was high school days until he got a job in the military and get married, had three kids in straight three years of their married life. One time, his younger daughter who is kindergarten ask him if he wanted to die because of smoking, he just grinned and answer back, “We’ll gonna die somehow. The question is just when.” And his daughter replied. “ So do you like me to die? Because my teacher told me that, we’ll die earlier than our dad who is smoking.” She hugged her father tight and “I don’t want to die daddy, please stop smoking.”
And he did. He stopped smoking. Mo medicine, no device. Just strong free will and love to his family.

Everybody knows that smoking does more than harm than good. It gives you yellow teeth, bad skin, bad breath, cancer, lung and heart diseases. But no matter how frightening the statistics are, people continue to smoke and more young people are picking up the habit. The ultimate decision to stop smoking lies with the smoker. Here are some of the myths and fact about smoking.

Myth: Why should I stop smoking? I have to die from something eventually.

Fact: Sure, you have to die from something. But if you’re an average smoker, you’re three years likely to die earlier as of non-smoker of the same age and sex. Twice as likely as a non-smoker to suffer from heart attack or to die of cancer.

Myth: If I stop smoking, I’ll get fat.

Fact: Chances are, you will gain weight. 79 percent of those who quit gain weight, but they gain only an average of 2.3 kilograms. Exercises and watching what you eat can help you avoid getting weight.
Myth: I just can’t enjoy life without cigarette.
Fact: ex-smokers have fewer coughs, better lung function and a stronger immune system than those who continue smoking.

Myth: I’m already sick from smoking cigarettes. I might as well keep on smoking.

Fact: Those who quit from smoking after a heart attack are ten times less likely to die than those who continue smoking. People with lung cancer are also much more likely to live longer if they quit smoking.

Myth: I’ll quit later. My body will still have time to recover.

Fact: while some unhealthy effects from smoking like nicotine deposit can disappear withion hours or days after stopping, others take years to clear up.

Myth: I’ve tried stopping before and failed, so I’ll just fail again.

Fact: lot of people don’t succeed right away at stopping smoking. It’s a highly addictive habit and many smokers need to try quitting several times before they succeed. Successful method vary to different person who use it. What may seem nor working for others may be just what you need to quit. So just try something new every now and then until you finally succeeded on quitting. Don’t give up and keep trying.
