Uses of Seasonings in beverages and drinks
Seasonings of various categories are used in the production of beverages and drinks.
The commonly used seasonings are spices such as pepper and its varieties, are used in seasoning some cereal drinks.
Clove is another spice used in flavoring.Ginger is a root spice used in spicing and flavor,in preparation of stimulating drinks.
Various flavorings such as vanilla,strawberry,blackberry,flavors from lemon peels etc,are used in beverage and drink flavoring.Coloring are sparingly used for beverage and drink production, because the different beverages and drinks have natural colors
General Principle Underlying the Use of Seasoning:
1.Most seasonings are available for culinary
use in fresh,dried or powdered form.
2.Use sparingly,too much can be undesirable.
3.Keep dried or powdered forms in air-tight
containers to prevent loss of aroma.
4.Some particular seasonings blend well with
most foods ,others with only a
few,example,salt and pepper have a wide
usage;almond or mint are used for sweet
dishes;while curry and thyme are used for
savory dishes.
