Visionless Policies of Bush and their Horrible Repercussions

The warmonger Pre-emptive Doctrine was coined and implemented by the incumbent boorish President of the sole supper power of the world. He is leaving the White House in 2009 after doing enough damage to global peace. The barefaced repercussions of his war-loaded tenure would remain sizzling for a long duration of time even after the expiry of his term. During his Presidentship his visionless anticipatory doctrine has shed sufficient blood of the innocent people of the world. Bush implemented his war monger policies in letter and spirit after the self-created tragedy of 9/11.The most backward countries of the world were thrown to the Stone Age rubble by the well-trained and well-equipped soldiers of the most powerful giants of the world. The Allied soldiers lavishly used weapons of mass destruction against the inopportune nations of Afghanistan and Iraq. Now USA under the aegis of President G W Bush is flexing its military muscles to launch unjust war on Iran.

Bush has badly failed to give a gleam of hope to the Palestinian for an independent state. His Middle Eat Policies are based on exploitation, double standards and duplicity. Despite the blatant fact that America is the largest polluter of the global atmosphere, the head of the Land of Opportunities did no effort to ratify Kyoto Protocol that can give a gleam of anticipation to preserve global environment. He has given his own nation only sense of insecurity and perpetual fear. His administration has signed a partial nuclear deal with India to trigger nuclear arms race and uncertainty in South Asia. Throughout its history the United States of America has never seen such a president having so myopic vision. The souls of gallant George Washington, valiant Abraham Lincoln and illustrious Roosevelt might turn bitter over their visionless successor.

The current President of the only superpower of the world rose to the pagoda of authority in 2001 in the controversial elections that were finally decided by the court. The verdict declared George W Bush triumphant while Al-Gore was acknowledged the second best. The victorious candidate expressed his concerns for promotion of democracy and peace in the world after coming to power. To project himself the champion of Americans’ security he launched unjust wars on Afghanistan and Iraq by using ploy of 9/11 tragedy. The subsequent unending war against terrorism resulted in massive causalities of the innocent people. The regimes of both these backward countries were projected as imminent threat to Uncle Sam. The self-styled Islamic government of Taliban and dictatorship of Saddam Hussain were replaced with lame duck and crippled democracies. These democratic castles of sand are erected on the foundations in which there is blood of innocent civilians who have been slaughtered for the mistake of taking birth in these unfortunate territories that have been destroyed by the power intoxicated dinosaurs having hegemonic designs in the world.

The NATO forces shift the blame of presence of Taliban and al-Qaeda from one area of Pakistan to another before attacking any place in its hilly territories. The potent forces of several countries have failed to capture Osama Bin Laden. It is a bald fact that even after massive bombing about two third area of Afghanistan is still under the control of Taliban while the jurisdiction of the government of Hamid Karzai is restricted to Kabul. This points out that either NATO forces are deliberately doing this to extend their period of stay or they are so inept that they have failed to achieve their goal even after butchering thousands of immaculate people. It seems that Osama Bin Laden may be in White House from where he is regularly sending his video CDs that only serve interests of the incumbent Republican administration! The various reports by the American and international think tanks testify that there were no WMDs in Iraq and there was no link between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda .G W Bush himself accepted these claims in his State of Union address; however, despite knowing the fact Saddam Hussein was hanged after a dramatic trial by a court working under the auspices of Allied forces. Even after the lapse of more than five years the Allied forces did not end their atrocities in Iraq.

The numbers of suicide bombings in the recent years subsequent to Nine Eleven tragedy have increased manifold in the world. These tragic incidents have caused massive casualties and permanent disability of thousands of the sufferers. These are the worst repercussions of Bush’s warmonger policies. The War on Terrorism has provided justifications to Israel, India, Russia, etc.,to suppress freedom movements in the unfortunate areas in which they are sponsoring state terrorism.

In order to entice Palestinians G W Bush generated an illusory hope of an independent state for the bleeding stateless nation. He started the unfulfilled drama of Roadmap. The Quartet representatives (USA, UNO, European Union and Russia) have badly botched to materialize two state solution up to 2005 because Ariel Sharon rejected the plan conceived by these global powers. President Bush cowed down due to political pressure exerted by the neoconservative lobby in his administration. Thus the efforts of the association of powerful gargantuan went down the drain and their visionary plan to carve out a sovereign state was thrown to the backburner. On November 27, 2007 about 40 nation representatives assembled at Annapolis to determine the fate of Palestinians by keeping at bay Hamas that was elected in 2006 with the punch of public vote after rejecting Al-Fatah Therefore, Hamas is the authentic representative and popular political party in Palestinian occupied territories because it derives its mandate from the people whose fate is in the doldrums. Thus Annapolis Conference was an exercise in futility because the genuine representative party of the Palestinians was deliberately marginalized with devious intentions by the western ogres and their stooges in Palestine having no popular backing. After triggering clash between Hamas and Al-Fatah the democratically elected government of Ismail Haniya was ousted and was replaced with the handpicked government of Salam Fayyad.

The rejection of American proposals that were thrashed out by its Ambassador in the UN Zalmay Khalilzad to pass a UN resolution to permanently settle the Palestinian conflict reveals the strapping grip of the neoconservative Jews in the Bush administration and dominant influence of Israel on the foreign policy of the sole superpower of the world. It also divulges that the life of American giant is in Israeli parrot. Mahmood Abbas want to negotiate a deal with the Israeli leadership. Both sides are deliberating without popular support. The Palestinians have warned Mahmood Abbas that he should not cross red lines by finalizing any agreement with Israel without authorization of the natives. Similarly, on November 27, 2007, Ovadia Yosef, the spiritual leader of the Shas party, announced that his party would leave the government coalition, thereby ending the coalition's majority in the Knesset, if Ehud Olmert agreed to divide Jerusalem. President Bush is leaving the office in 2009. Therefore, the deliberations are exercises in vainness and looks part of election campaign for the Republican’s Presidential candidate John McCain whose chances of losing are very much palpable due to jingoistic policies of the Bush administration.

Firstly, Bush’s Mideast trip to Israel and the West Bank in January 8-16 was hailed as a peace-promoting journey. It was projected as the follow-up effort stemming from the late-November peace conference in Annapolis, Maryland to push forward the deliberation process between Israel and Palestine. Secondly, to promote democracy in the Middle East and thirdly, to counter the rising influence of Iran that poses a rival of America in the volatile region of Middle East. Iran is the only regional power that can clash American concerns in the region. According to White House spokeswoman Dana Perino the President’s visit also includes Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Bush was projected to discuss "developments in Iraq, the challenges presented by Iran, regional security, economic ties, and relations between the United States and its close allies.”1 These are explicit motives but the ulterior motives were to get the support of the Arab countries for further stringent actions against Iran to push it more against the wall that can weaken it in the comity of nations. Another clandestine motive was to pressurize OPEC to increase oil production that can reduce spiraling oil prices. America also wants to sell its arms and ammunition to the oil rich countries in return for energy resources. The settlement of the intricate Arab-Israel conflict through the two state solutions as proposed by American President is just eyewash.

Iran has every right to harness electricity by using nuclear fuel under Article IV of the NPT. But President Bush wants to trample this international document under his feet by depriving Iran of its constitutional right. America and its Allies are hand in glove to maintain their hegemony in the nuclear field. It is ironic that the global powers want to denuclearize Iran while possessing large number of nukes in their own arsenals. Iran is a nation with strong sense of national pride. It would never budge an inch from its principle stand of using nuclear technology for civilian purposes. Therefore, the so-called champions of international justice should hammer into their minds that they would badly botch in their efforts to compel Iran to bow down before the western crocodiles. If they want peace in the world then as a short term they should negotiate with Iran to bring its nuclear sites under the surveillance of IAEA so that it can exploit nuclear energy for civilian purpose. For Permanent solution of the nuclear proliferation there must be universal denuclearization.

Bush administration has signed a partial nuclear deal with India because America wants to strengthen it to counter the growing influence of China that has become an economic powerhouse. This will trigger arms race in the region and generate uncertainty by raising the graph of eruption of nuclear warfare that can throw the global peace in the doldrums. The safe and sound nuclear program of Pakistan has become a thorn in the side of western powers. Therefore, they are perpetually pressurizing it to rollback its program. They are propagandizing that nukes of Pakistan can fall into the wrong hands of terrorists. They have deliberately turned a blind eye towards more than 200 nukes of Israel that are already in wrong hands because it is engaged in wars and skirmishes since its birth on May 14,1948.These double standards of the Bush administration have endangered global peace. The nuclear powers should bear in mind that ignition of a future nuclear war cannot be averted through double standards.

During his second Presidential elections when G W Bush was losing the contest his spies prepared a fraudulent movie of Osama Bin Laden threatening Americans for another Manhattan. If we read between the lines the speech of Osama was an assortment of fabricated dialogues. The sole purpose of this movie was to generate fear among the Americans and to motivate the public opinion in favor of Bush whose chances of losing were clear against the strong candidature of John Kerry. In this fabricated movie Osama said, “The events which affected me directly go back to 1982…when America gave the Israelis the green light to invade Lebanon…As I watched the destroyed towers in Lebanon, it occurred to me that the unjust should suffer the same—that the towers in America must be destroyed so that America gets a taste of what we went through, so that it will stop killing our children and women.”2The naïve movie maker failed to remember that in 1982 and the subsequent seven years Osama Bin Laden was fighting the proxy war of USA in Afghanistan to safeguard its concerns. If he was so aggrieved due to falling of towers in Lebanon then why he transported, recruited, funded, trained and equipped Muslim fighters under the auspices of CIA? It is an open secret that War against Soviet Union was sponsored by USA and fought on the dictations of its intelligence agencies. At that time Osama was hailed hero and now he is serving American concerns as an global terrorist.

To establish democracy in the Middle East the Allied troops should not pamper the despotic rulers in the region. They should immediately withdraw their troops from Iraq and let the people of Iraq to decide their representative government. If the Allied countries want the welfare of Iraq they should help to conduct transparent elections under the aegis of UNO and after free and fair elections the authority should be transferred to the genuine public representatives. In order to settle the Palestinian problem all core issues including Jerusalem and refugees right to return to their native motherland, borders, settlements, water and security issues should be deliberated and resolved on just basis. Hamas representatives should also be invited in these dialogue processes to ensure the acceptance of any solution concluded on the negotiation table. The Roadmap and agreement concluded during the Annapolis conference can only be implemented by full participation of Hamas. The international community should pressurize Israel to vacate the areas that were occupied by it during 1967 war to ensure peace in the Middle East.

In his last few months in the office G W Bush can do a lot for preservation of global peace and atmosphere by expressing a sense of responsibility by following the golden words of William Shakespeare (1564–1616), English poet and playwright that were mentioned by him in his play Henry IV, Part 2 (1597), Act 3, Scene 1, “Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.”3 He should end the state terrorism that is being launched by the U.S. and its allies under the euphemism of War on Terrorism. The Allied forces should withdraw their troops from Afghanistan and Iraq by replacing them with troops of Muslim countries under the aegis of UN. They should not strengthen their economies by looting resources of other states. America should stop war of words with Iran and trigger negotiations while bearing in mind global justice. Bush should ratify Kyoto Protocol and should strive to reform it to preserve global atmosphere. He should give up aggressive pre-emptive doctrine to establish lasting peace in the world. In order to ensure nuclear weapons free world the P-5 members, i.e., America, Russia, France, Great Britain and China should destroy their own nukes. After that India, Israel and Pakistan would follow suit. Bush must bear in mind the following words of William Shakespeare (1564–1616), English poet and playwright that mentioned in his comedy “Measure for Measure” (1604), Act 2, Scene 2. “It is excellent to have a giant's strength! But it is tyrannous to use it like a giant.”4
