Dealing with acne
Acne is common among the young people. It is defined as the infection of the skins sebaceous glands which produce an oil called sebum. Sebum oil protects the skin. The follicles of the glands get clogged and sebum begins to accumulate because it cant flow properly then the skin forms pimples, blackheads, red swellings or cysts. There are many causes of acne such as genetics, hormones, emotional stress and a diet based on junk foods. Sometimes the soaps, lotions or cremes that we use can also cause acne. Solutions to acne are: changing to a fat free diet, get enough sleep, go out in the fresh air for as long as possible but avoid the sun. Long exposure to the sun has a worsening effect on acne. Exercise at least three times a week for about 40 minutes making sure you sweat. Eat vegetables, fruits, whole grains, soy and vitamin E enriched foods. Use a soap creme or lotion that has vitamin E and suits your skin type. When you get a pimple do not squeeze it because you risk infecting it or getting a scar. Scars take a long time to disappear. When I break out or get a pimple I wash my face with soap, pat it dry with a towel and then apply tea tree cream or oil on the pimple or affected spot. I do that twice a day and in about 3 days the pimples disappear. Other people that I know use cremes, gels, lotions, washes, soaps and facial masks containing benzoyl peroxide to treat their acne. Always remember to be patient. Do not let a few pimples or blemishes lower you self esteem or ruin your social life. Others probably dont notice it as much as you think. Just try what I have suggested because it has worked for my daughter and I. Be positive and stay happy!
