"My parents have always treated me like a boy."...???
“My parents have always treated me like a boy. Never have they made me feel that I am a girl.” So read a comment by a college girl in the newspaper.
I didn’t understand whether it was a comment or a compliment. Quite a weird statement to make.
Treating the girl child like a boy is imprinting the concept of gender divide in the child’s mind.
Yes, there definitely is a difference but that’s what it is all about. How boring would the world be full of the chirpless, serious, mindful, business-like race of men. No laughter, no smiles…only grumpiness of work.
A child is blissfully ecstatic, quite unaware of the fact that the society he is born into is gender specific. Male superior, female, well, …
What is the point of being born as a girl if you are treated like a boy? The genders were not created to establish a superior-inferior or weak-powerful relationship. It’s just a medium for spiritual growth.
A woman’s experience and view of the world is very different from a man’s. On being treated like a boy, the feminine elegance and beauty are lost somewhere. You can imitate a man but can you ever BE a man? No, that is not true biologically. Moreover, what’s the need? Whatever has been granted has been for a reason. Relish in that.
A woman’s grace lies in her feminine stature.. A man his own part in the society and a woman has her own. Nowhere can their roles overlap. It’s meant to be like this. So why all these women liberation movements? Why the demand for equal status?
Man=Woman. How is this possible? Biologicaaly only they are different so where is the question of equatity or inequalty. They simply are different. Genders. That’s it. Why such long interpretations of such a simple concept? A man is a man and a woman, a woman. There is no question of equality or any hierarchy.
A tomboy can always be a part of an all guys group. But who’d like to get hooked to a tomboy? The feminine grace lies in feminity, nothing else.
Love, humility, truth, tenderness, sincerity, beauty…women epitomize these. How dull would the world be withoutthem!

in my own opinion.. parents
in my own opinion.. parents have the tendency to treat their children differently from their given sex/gender is mainly because they were expecting much.. (okay that was an abstract explanation) like for me, there will be times when my dad or mom would treat me like a boy because when i was still in my mom's womb, i was expected to be a boy.. (blame the science for that!) and at times they would nag because i dont act like a girl.. but believe me, there are lots af advantages of being treated like a boy rather than being treated like a girl. you learn to be independent when it comes to work.. treated like a girl all the time would mean under-estimation. but if you are treated like a guy in some ways, people would think that you are somewhat strong enough to be under-estimated.. *i hope i gave a quite profitable explanation..
rhaine i appreciate ur
rhaine i appreciate ur comment but when u say 'under-estimation' arent difference being created and inferior-superior relationships being constructed in the next gen's minds? can women not be independent workwise? women have great inner strength which men are very much aware of and which deflates their physical strength. love, softness, beauty, laughter, humility...how dull the world wld be without women and how unattractive does a woman look when she tries to imitate a man. parents can say their child is a boy, but is she? nature doesnt agree. actually its quite a technique to subdue women. ur taking out all the qualities of a women and telling her to imbibe male traits. its in the nature that a girl will always play with dolls and guys guns n cars...who fancies a cute lil baby girl with a gun!!!!!!!???? the bsame holds true when they grow up...onlt the toys change...whenever man has played with nature disasters happen...lesbianism is one example here...

Good Advice Sheena
You have given good advice to all those parents who don't treat their girls well. They consider their girls as burden on their shoulders. Your article teaches all of them that they must treat their girls as they treat their boys. Nicely written. Thanks take care.
Visit Rocky's Villa
well rocky, it was actually
well rocky, it was actually about parents treating girl child so much like a boy child that they lose their feminine side...a girl s meant to b a girl... why shld comparisons there...both sexes r a part f society...no infrior, no superior...

Parents and Girls
We should treat girls like we treat boys because of this they feel confidence. They can fight with bad people. From this article everybody knows that women are not weak persons. They can also do work like boys.

nicely written with good logic undoubtly.but i personally think that this type of topics are very sensitive.
naturally, men body language is tougher than women.so that they had a little advantage compared to women.that everybody knows.so some people wanted to treat thier children as a boy.they wanted to see male guts in girl child.so we have to take this statement that way.(personal opinion)
so it is not that wierd statement yaar.ha..ha..hmm..getting sleeping..b..y..e..

shantikumar, treating a girl
shantikumar, treating a girl child like a boy doesnt give her the muscular strength or does it? you can make an hen believe its its a cock but can it be so? nature has denined the roles and its meant to b like this. why confuse genders in here.
a man and a woman's view of the world are genrally v diff... as it is, children need to grow spontaneously with only parents support n love. personality it is up to them to form/discover.
