Obesity in the United States
More then 25% of the adult population in the United States is obese. 19% of adults 18-29 years of age are obese. That’s nearly 1 in 5 people who are in the prime of their life. While 31% of 50-59 year olds are obese. Which is nearly 1 in 3 people in the middle years of life. Obesity drops back down to 19% of people 70 years or older.
The reason why there are fewer 70+ year olds who are fat then 50 something’s is not because of diet or exercise, sadly it’s because obese people often don’t live into their 70’s.
When you consider the aging population and the obesity epidemic, it’s easy too see a coming health care crisis in the coming years.
