Change of Attitude - Concluding Part

But the guards didn't seem that they could be bribed. They were honest in their duties. Still he had no clue as to how he would complete his errand.
Might is right, he thought. Either way, he had led a pitiable life till now. But he wanted to throw away that sense and wanted to become a strong man. But being strong in a foreign place was not going to be out of danger, firstly, because he was all alone. And secondly, and more importantly, it would spoil his plan. And the pains he had taken for months together would go in vain.
It was more than a year now and he had made his way, considerably, up to the small kid. He would also help the ladies there. That made him more popular and trustworthy among the females. He would help the mistress to play the kid, get him ready for his school. He helped all in such a way that he soon became a family member for the landlord. But he could just observe him and do no more. On more than one occasion he got the chance to run away with the kid but running away with the kid out of the bungalow was still a distant dream for him.
He was near the kid physically and always got the chance to talk to him. But one day such dawned that as he had taken a drastic decision of stealing to keep himself alive, this day too was a fortune-turning one. He met the kid once.
“My Little Master, how are you?”
“I am fine Uncle. How are you doing yourself?”
“Well, see. God has not done anything good for me.”
“Please don’t say so. He takes care of all of us, of you, of me and of all the living beings in this universe. He will do some good to you too. I am sure.”
“But I don’t think that is happing with me.”
“You are blaming Him I think. And that’s not a good thing on your part.”
“ I don’t think I am blaming Him. I’m just expressing that luck is not on my part these days.”
“Never blame the days that are bestowed on you by Him. These days are a chance given to you in the form of life to do well to others. So never blame a day. If your days are good, they will give you happiness. On the other hand, the bad days give you the experiences that no bookish knowledge will give you. Experience is the best teacher, but its fees are too high, they say. If your days are worst still, they teach you a lesson how to act in this world. And if the days are best for you, as are mine presently, they give you lifetime memories. So never blame Him neither the human life given to you by Him, which is all but rare.”
All this talk by the ultra mature kid opened the eyes of the poor man, who had come to commit a wicked crime, a crime that was totally unforgiving one. From that very moment he decided to shade any of his sinful plans and support everyone in the family till his last breath. This change in his attitude not only made him feel lighter, but also his unadulterated mind made him braver to face the world.
