Conducting prayer
It is on record that the people of India were the first who had invented the concept of prayer before God and since time immemorial they had been practising different methods of conducting prayer. There were times when they were running away from the busy life and they had been reaching jungles, mountains and were conducting penance and there were times when they were found putting their body and soul in difficulties and were bearing all those hardships just to meet God. They were found standing on one leg for days together, they were found standing in cold waters, they were found living hungry for days together, they were found beating their body, they were found naked, they were found keeping awake for moths together and all they did just to meet God. It is on record that they had been found sitting with closed eyes and were trying to think only about God and nothing more. They were found leaving all this busy life. They did not marry, they did not had homes, they had sacrificed all belongings, they lived without anything in their possession. And even then they were found running towards those who were maintaining families and who were earning because ultimately this body was requiring food and other necessities. And they started reciting religious books, they started singing religious songs and then they were establishing this loudspeaker system and they are calling God with loud voice and they were found repeating the same items of prayer time and again thinking that God might have forgotten the prayer which they had placed before God yesterday. The man of today does not know what should be the items of prayer. From time immemorial the people have established prayers in three parts. In the first part they praise God and in the second part they thank God whatever has been provided to them and in the third part they place their new demands before God and we must accept that the man is just reciting the first two parts and the most important part is the third part which contains our demands. We are increasing this part and we are repeating the same demands time and again till those are fulfilled. We never want success on merits, but on most of the occasions, we demand that God must come down and must help us in spite of the fact that we have done nothing to achieve the target which is in our mind and which we are placing before God.
So time has come when we should revise our pray process and we must first of all plan our project, work on those project in a right manner and then we have got a right to place our demand before God and should demand His help. God can help, but we must accept that God never comes down and give us for which we had made no efforts. We should demand something from God as a matter of right and not as a matter of charity. This is the right course and we should tell our children the right course of prayer. The present system of prayer established by Indians is full of weaknesses and therefore, we should revise the same.
