To you Nurin

It has been sometime now since I penned anything in my blog. I have been waiting for the results of the article contest 2008. I do not worry much of the results frankly speaking but I wish to extend my heartiest congratulations to whosoever is declared the winner or winners. I doubt it would be me.

Anyway, what I would like the world to know is about this incident that happened a few months ago in my country. A little 8 year old girl was kidnapped, kept by the kidnapper for about a month, sexually assaulted using objects like cucumbers and aubergines or brinjals. Her dead body was finally packed in a small bag, laid in foetal position. She still had some of the objects used in the assault, within her body at the time of the post mortem. When the parents were informed they denied the body was that of their little girl. They stated that the face did not resemble their daughter who was a very pretty girl, but DNA testing showed that the child was theirs!

I began to think about this girl and her ordeal in the hands of the viscious character that even today is walking free among the public waiting perhaps for his next victim. This is a poem that is the result of my thoughts

In death you look so angelic, so serene
Like a newborn babe
Oh Nurin, who could do you such inhuman acts
To one so fragile, so young
Which no beast, human or otherwise
Would ever commit to one of its kind

Let justice be served
That others be free and safe
Oh Nurin, you have been liberated
From the hands of one so vile, so hideous
From the torture you so endured
In the hands of a predator so viscious

We join our hands in prayer
For all those who walked your path
We hope and pray that no child big or small
Will ever go through the misery and pain
That your frail and delicate body suffered

of such violence, but there are more and more stories aboud poor defenceless children sadisticaly killed sometimes even by own parents. Are we so sick? We should start to care about each other and watch each other hands.

shobhan ,they are just animals

and are mentally sick people. I doubt even severe punishments can change their sick minds. Very miserable indeed.

shobhan, these incidents

shobhan, these incidents make us ask...we all are sadists at heart. it is in our nature. but to actually inflict our sadism onto someone? how can anyone do it? and to children...?
so much violence going on...how can a being hurt another one?
