I wonder why it seems so empty

Surprising!

But what’s so surprising about it? Haven’t you grown up watching them? Haven’t you followed them through their flight in the clear blue sky? Haven’t you made them jump with the stamp of your feet as they sat nibbling the grains?

Why does its sight seem so strange today?

The heavy downpour filled a pothole with muddy water. As I stepped out of my house, I noticed a house sparrow swimming in it, shaking itself vigorously. The small wingspan cut furiously through the water as it bathed itself.

A bird??? Wow! I had almost forgotten they exist too!

Cities are growing – horizontally and vertically. I’ve forgotten what it was like to be woken up by the chirping of the birds. I’ve forgotten how I would stare at the sky in the evenings when they all hurried up to their nests. I’ve forgotten what it felt like to watch them through a hiding beaking the grains on the terrace and then suddenly come out and stamp hard to watch them in flight.

Every moment you are learning. But sometimes, the price you’ve to pay is big. A visit to the doctor in the scorching sun drained me of all the energy. Tired from being out since morning, I walked lazily towards the front gate of my house.

But what do I see? A hole that had been dug out to plant poles for a family occasion, was filled with water. And at the edge of it, stood a small chirpy being, drinking; the small beak taking in all it could and bending down repeatedly to quench the thirst of its master.

Been ages since I saw a bird in real! I only get to see them on Discovery channel or Nat Geo now!

Lately, the sight of a cute humming bird dipping her long beak into the flowers almost stupefied me!

These sights have become so precious. What was a daily routine has become an almost extinct sight. We talk of global warming and big issues. Doesn’t the birdless sky ring a bell?

Oh! How i love this pattern!.jpg
