To get rid of sugar ants, mix 1 part of boric acid powder with 20 parts of sugar. Sprinkle this in areas where you notice the ants, like behind cabinets and under the sink. Do not use on food preparation surfaces. Keep children and pets away from it. When ants are no longer visible, sweep up bait and dispose.
