Friends

Almost immediately Ramesh realized his mistake. It was for almost three years that there had been differences between him and Sonu. But today through the haze he could see and relive years of their friendship right from the time they were in class Nursery. And those eight precious years were far more valuable, memorable and sweeter than the unfortunate last two years when they had delved a discord.

Ramesh knew that he would not be able to appear in the final board examinations due to the severe head and shoulder injury he had received due to the collision.

Tears welled up in his eyes as he was helped by Sonu in his time of distress. He had a fatal fall from the scooter he was riding. There was no body around when the accident took place. From nowhere Sonu had come to his rescue.

He carried his books and belongings to safety and informed his parents who rushed to the hospital. All this time he was with him and gave him courage. He had always been misunderstood by him. He had realized his mistake but was unable to express himself. He only wept and wept ……… inconsolably.
