To man's true nature...
I just got back from submitting the form for my voter’s id. Something very interesting happened there.
Standing in the queue, a gentleman’s voice caught my attention.
“Oh! I am so glad I brought it along.”
“Oh! I am so glad I could be of use to someone.”
“Yes, yes. I have it.”
The crowd was gradually drifting to him.
It so happened that the lady standing next to the window needed to staple her forms. In the absence of a stapler, she was asking the person next to her for a stapler.
Soon, most of the queue, including me, had him asking for it and the sentences mentioned above are his utterances.
Standing next to me, he said, “Oh I am so glad I brought it along. So many people were benefitted by it.”
It was a delight to see that inspite of standing in the queue in a highly humid weather and lending his stapler to numerous people, he was non- flushed. Instead, it was sheer delight.
It is a stark contrast to people who grumble over the fact that noone bothered to get their own, irritated, rude, sorry at the moment when they had picked it up to bring along when they had already finished with their work.Cursing people’s common sense, they’ll rant how the world has gone to dogs.
It was a pleasure to see that gentleman-so alive, so kicking. Just a little different perception made my day and of so many more.
I came back smiling and happy. This is what karma is all about. This is making good causes. What greater good than bringing a smile to a stranger's face? Remember, he could have used a different attitude and spoilt it too!
