Mind Games

From the moment a child is born, it starts mind games. It learns that every time it cries its parent or grand parent will run to find out why. As it grows older it learns more sophisticated games that will benefit it. As time passes it learns how to use its mind to play tricks, to manipulate and organise its life so that it does not put itself at a disadvantage.

No matter how hard a person tries to hide his/her follies through mind games, it won't be long others who are also in the game find out what he/she is up to.

As we play these games our characters too begin to unfold and little by little our personalities become the talk of the town.

The talk of the town may be good and bad, but still it spreads within the community. No amount of hypocrisy or manipulation can hide facts from the public eye which is always more critical. If any of us think that we can fool the public we are only fooling ourselves. If at all we think that the public is ignorant of our follies we are ignorant ourselves.

Many friendships end but the persons involved may be wondering why it ended the way it did. Each one thinks only he/she is good at the game, as such each of us have our own ego to protect and the ailing friendship dies a natural death.

Mind games are everyone's forte and therefore we have to learn to adapt to situations and treat one another with respect and honour. Hypocrisy and manipulation may work for a while but it is not good for long term relationships of any kind.
