Doing Good Means Becoming Good
When I was yet in my elementary, high school, and college, I used to have extreme tantrums. But, when I became professional and had stages of experience, I learned a lot what it is to become a nice person.
In my years in the seminary (1988-1989), I underwent small groups and big group processing of childhood experiences. I learned from the experiences of each one in the group.
Each underwent various degree of pain and sad memories with his parents, brothers and sisters. Though, the influence of each and everyone in the family is what made up an individual person with unique character traits and attitude.
During the process sessions we had with our seminary staff, a priest or a nun, the enneagram of nine personalities had been taught to us. Personally, it guided me a lot on how to know oneself: the strengths and weaknesses, and on how to redeem myself from my dark sides with the whole hearted acceptance of everything that made me what I am.
Even now, I do still have to be proud of the experiences and learning I earned from the one year seminary formation even though I am professing a life as a layman.
