Problem:Girlfriend Does Not Know To Cook

I have read about „big“ problem of one young man in the women’s magazine. He asked readers for advice, because his loved girlfriend does not know to cook. He writes that they eat in restaurant, what is quite expensive. He also afraids if she will be able to cook for their children in the future.

A lot of women have advised to him to talk with her, or to help her to start cooking and it really seems as serious problem of young couple. But I do not think so. I have made small research among my family and friends: My fifty-eight old neighbour did not know to cook when she has married, because she was from rich family. Today, she helps to her daughter with cooking for grandchildren. Second neighbour did not know to cook, because mother did not teach her it. My oldest aunt did not know to cook before wedding. She was only sixteen, when she has got married. My second oldest aunt did not know to cook till the age of 32. Her third husband has taught her to do it. Other aunt does not know to cook at all, they live next to grandmother, who is good cook. Mother of my mother did not know to cook as a young woman, because she had to work on the farm. My mother did not know to cook till my ten years. I remember how we cried above her pumpkin soup. Her mother did not let her to approach to pots before and even after wedding. Only mother of my father knew to cook before she has got married and she is popular cook of our family.

I have cooked from my age of twelve, but when I have bad day, I am not able to make good omelette. Cooking is not so sophisticated work, that girl has to know it before wedding. As you see, women usually learn it during marriage. Still, when girlfriend is good cook, but she has bad character, that is real problem.
