Its Sometimes Like This

There was this ad in the papers today. Asking for people to write for a magazine with a telephone number and email address. So I called the number and this guy answers with a mild voice and obviously tired or overwrought.
No, he said, its anything about motivation, and, no, we don't pay, its a free magazine, you can meet me upstairs here and I'll give you a copy.
Needless to say I'm not working for free and undoubtedly this man is motivated by some future success or idea of it.
Then he asks where I live and if there are any places there for rent. We discuss that and the relative low quality rentals available.
I get the impression that this man, who works for a large daily newspaper here in Port of Spain, is a somewhat misguided fellow who may be trying to make some future for himself with a mixed idea about motivating others and establishing a business doing so.
When I was younger I knew quite a few like him. People who decide their favourite ideas in life can make money.
It doesn't take them long to discover that it doesn't work.
This time, unfortunately, I am too tired and worn out with my own labours to spend time trying to convince others that they are wrong.
So I left the matter alone.
