We Live In a Lovely Land (To the Filipinos)

"Pearl of the Orient Seas"
They call this land of ours,
A land of swaying palm trees
And a sweet smelling flowers

A humble, industrious race
Live in this tropic land,
Their simple, kindly ways
Are known in foreign strands.

In picturesque nipa homes
They lead quiet, happy lives
They ask for nothing more
Only peaceful days and nights.

They earn their livelihood
In cheerful honest labor,
Each boy growing to manhood,
Doing the task of his father.

Though very humble and quiet
Our people are proud and bold,
They have been in many fight
That freedom they may ever hold.

Our people have held on
To the rich ways of our past
Handed from father to son,
They relieve a glorious past.

We Filipinos, live indeed
In a peaceful lovely land,
Where every family feels the need
To thank God for His kindly Hand.
