Honesty is in the Genes!

I along with my better half were roaming through the shops of Carol Bagh area of New Delhi. We were on a shopping spree and specifically in search of some good quality digital camera. It is that handling large chunks of cash is one thing which I dislike and find most unnerving, while shopping specially in areas of heavy rush and activity. On careful search we did manage to get one quality product, made in Japan camera which was feature loaded and fully advance as far as technology is concerned. Thus large sums of money passed through my hands.

We were not yet done as far as shopping was concerned. Thus we moved on from shop to shop in urge to purchase groceries, sarees, tapestry and other house-hold items my wife could lay hands on to. For every purchase I payed through bank credit cards and practically for everything use of plastic money was quiet handy.

However some cash, say thirty seven hundred rupees stayed in my wallet, waiting for emergency or return taxi fare. We have had a brief halt at a popular fast food Shoppe and had our fill of burgers and pizzas. Just then we realized that the newly bought camera was missing. “Since we had been taking snaps throughout, we must have left at some shop”, said my wife gingerly.

At once we began the research to re-find our lost lovely piece of art, an immaculate scientific wonder, a capturing device for those precious and glorious moments. Thus we reached a shop where she had purchased panties and undergarments. Before we could say anything the gentle looking shopkeeper said, “Sir, you forgot…..” We were thrilled beyond imagination and simply thanked him courteously. Yet he said, “Sir, Honesty is in the genes.”
