Kathopanishad has described Self/Soul(atman) as intelligent or conscious which is neither born nor does it die; it is not from anywhere nor anyone is from it; it is unborn, everlasting, eternal and primaeval; it is not slain evenif body is slain. Further this Atman which resides in the hearts of all, is smaller than the smallest and greater than the greatest.
