Methemoglobin has been reported rarely in cases when more then 600mg prilocain dose has been inserted. I am sure no one is going that big a dose in a dental clinic.

Other than that there has been wide studies on it and no adverse reactions has been found.

It is perfectly safe to give prilocaine in pregnant patients 1-5ml of infiltration has no adverse reactions or never reported.

Well as far as zinc ox eugenol is concerned, I would say that if at all u need to use, use a cotton pellet dampened/ moistened with eugenol & not the whole powder mixed with eugenol as the active ingredient is eugenol.(may be the chelated mix has a different use- plz enlighten)

Firstly,
The landmark of IDn block may have been missed . The overlying tissues can be pretty deceptive for eg in falbby people/ thin& frail/ old persons, even though one may feel that there r enough subjective & objective symptoms of IDN block.
So, check for reasons of failure of this block.
