Take care of the eyes ... learn to use them properly.
Submitted by Uma on 5 January, 2008 - 21:59.EYES are the best gift of Nature to our body. One is not even aware of their importance as long as our vision is all right. Only when one's vision begins to fail do we realise how much we depend on them. There is, therefore, a constant need to take care of our eyes.

What’s on your plate?
Submitted by Uma on 30 December, 2007 - 23:41.Eating out is unavoidable these days: breakfast and lunch at the office canteen, tea, samosas and mirchis in between meals, and dining out with family and friends are hallmarks of city life. A word of praise works wonders, but don’t over do it!
Submitted by Uma on 11 December, 2007 - 10:42.After all, who doesn’t want to feel good about themselves? Especially children. The label of ‘smart kid’ makes them walk about with an air of confidence.
But, when in excess, praise does more harm than good. And, it does not prevent kids from underperforming. Be it from parents or teachers, only deserving appreciation works.

Go around the house regularly and ensure that there are no sharp edges exposed that can hurt a child.
Keep all medicines out of the reach of children. Many tablets look like candy and toddlers love to eat them. Even medicines like iron tablets and vitamins are dangerous.

Here are strategies and tips to improve your writing skills.
Submitted by Uma on 4 December, 2007 - 23:12.If you can’t explain something simply, you don’t understand it well.
– Albert Einstein
You should use plain language that causes no confusion. If you are addressing a heterogeneous group of readers, make sure that the least educated among them would follow what you write. The logic should also be straight. Do not jump back and forth in time.
